Welcome to the afterlife. Well, one of them. Whether your character believes in Heaven, Hell, the Underworld, or any other version of the afterlife - they are now in The Flux. As to how they got here, it was as simple as stepping through a door. A door that has always been there, that they've walked through hundreds or even thousands of times before. One moment they were in their world and by stepping through the door, they've arrived in the hotel lobby of The Flux and are being greeted by the Concierge.

The Concierge explains that they've become a Shade, regardless of whether they were dead or not before, The Flux was drawn to them and collected them for an extended stay. The Flux is a time-and-space traveling hotel that requires fear to operate, and the Shades help power it by haunting the living. It doesn't have to be much, just a little scare will do - a simple "boo". Without this power, the hotel will be trapped in the Stagnation forever and no one will return home. For three weeks out of the month, The Flux entrance doors will transport the guests to another time and place where they can haunt the living however they choose.

As for the Shades themselves, they get more powerful the more they touch other Shades. This can range from a casual touch on the shoulder to hugs or more intimate acts such as kissing. Without contact, they will begin to fade until they are lost to the Stagnation.

In exchange for their services, rooms and three meals a day will be provided along with a wardrobe of clothes that will suit any era or world. Bingo cards are given to each Shade when they receive their room key that serve as currency within the hotel. The five-by-five card will hold a variety of sexual acts one can participate in to gain rewards at the shop or drinks at the bar. The more they fill out, the more rewards they get. Every month a new card is provided with new prompts.

The Flux is a small, panfandom, horror, time-and-space traveling, sex-optional (but highly encouraged!) game where your characters are the ghosts haunting the living. Characters will get to explore other worlds and time periods on a regular basis while trying to not fade away by building relationships.
